Additional Information

This is the 5th Annual Women and Heart Disease Conference to be held at the River Club in Downtown Jacksonville, FL. It is a half day program designed to address awareness, treatment and the importance of risk factor modification to clinicians in interpreting women’s cardiovascular symptoms, allowing for earlier recognition and better outcomes.

“It is paramount that we engage not only communities at large with educational efforts through widespread educational campaigns about awareness, treatment and importance of risk factor modification, but also bring and engage physicians (primary care, emergency care, OB/GYN, endocrinologists, internists, cardiologists etc) and other health care providers. For example, awareness of potential gender differences in presenting symptoms could assist clinicians in interpreting women’s symptoms, allowing for earlier recognition of ACS, more effective treatment and better outcomes. Similarly, awareness of epidemiologic, clinical and emerging gender specific data will help enable health care providers recognize these differences, discuss and translate them into clinical practice when appropriate.”
